Lat/long limitations

John, many thanks for your prompt reply,

Project initially aims to provide real time interactive displaying of restricted airspace over UK and N Sea. Test Data is in 6 column Excel (97) spreadsheet (AreaName, Lat, Long, Radius, Altitude, Remarks). Initial Mapping provided accurate pushpin positions, easily accessable suplementary information via labels and the options to hide away or display the name only. Only when mapping by lat/long with circles sized by radius did the accuracy drop, particularily after moving the map or resizing (How do I tell MP that the radius figures in my table are in miles?). Ideal solution will be for the restricted areas to be entered into a database in advance, queried each day and placed automatically onto MP. Finished map will be posted onto an intranet as well as being linked to a powerpoint slide.

As far as drawing the sectors and more complex restricted areas are concerned, I think that VB6 could possibly be used to draw lines on MP by lat/long. But my lack of VB skills (one VB3 module at college, 4 years ago) will make this more difficult. I've tried to draw the sectors using both the location sensor and the find lat/long position tools but they are just too time consuming. (where are the macros in MP?). Sectors automatically draw from lat/long positions stored in an access (97) database would be the ideal answer, but really don't know where to start on that one.

Once again, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks
Gus
