I remember a similar problem in the past. Every first time a user starts up MapPoint, it requires user interface to click the intro message. This happens only the very first time a user starts up MP.

If your COM app runs in a Windows station without interactive user interface, this dialog will block MapPoint for ever, or until the process is killed...
