I had the same problem with my laptop - the Outlook Contact address look-up feature was stuck on the default to look up the address through the MSN mapping website. (Not very handy when you are sitting in your car trying to find an address!) I figured this one out by myself.
The registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Outlook|Addin s\MapPoint.OfficeAddin.9 is either incorrect or is missing.
If your configuration is Outlook 2003 and MapPoint 2004, try this...
1. In Outlook, go to Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options, COM Add-Ins, highlight MapPoint Office Add-In, click remove. (If the MapPoint Add-In is not listed, jump to the next step.)

OK your way out. Close Outlook.
2. Open Outlook, navigate back to the COM Add-Ins, click Add, select file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Geography\MPOAI9.dll, click OK. Enable check mark on MapPoint Office Add-In. OK your way out. Close Outlook. Open Outlook, should work fine now.
It appears that this registry key is not configured correctly when MapPoint 2004 is installed, as the key added during installation lacks the SKU and Version values for the DLL.

Fortunately, it will configure correctly when the Add-In is removed and reinstalled through the Outlook interface. :P
(This is our little secret - nobody else in the world has identifed a fix for this problem yet!)
