you can search by full postcode but when you do a search for a road it only returns a partial. I wrote a program a while back to get round this that basically you search a road, the the program takes the partial postcode and searches for that and iterates through the list until it matches the road you searched for and the full postcode. Was slow as hell though so was canned by the boss
