pin map web graphic questions

Here's the situation...I want to create simple maps that display my company's dealer locations with pushpins (only). We have a ton of locations and the graphic has to be reletively small because I have to fit into a small area of our web page. I have a couple questions about using MapPoint:

1. Is there a way to hide all of the words on the map (state, city, country names, etc.)?

2. Is there a way to change the fill and line atributes for a state or country? Heck I can't even select a state! It only makes sense to me that if I click on Ohio that I should be able to select it, and then change its color and line thickness.

Here's and example of a map that I made in FreeHand, but it's grossly inacurate, and it sucked to make. Not to mention that the boss wants a ton more like it made (one for each state or country that we have dealers in).

I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks
