NY = New York State.
Queens I've never been to, but is a district - near Manhattan.
The Airbus plane crash in Oct. 2001 where the tailfin came off was in Queens. It also features in the film "Men In Black" (where the two flying saucers are hidden as a 'Worlds Fair').
