Access and MapPoint control _really_ slow

Hi!

I started using MapPoint when I had to create an application with it using Access.
Now the application is finished and it works well.

We're importing excel files in access (that works just fine and fast).
Then we take the info written in the DB (address, ...) to place the pushpins.
The problem is that I have a query with 2700 rows and when I place these pushpins it's really slow. Like 10-15 minutes.

Do you have any idea what could cause this or how I could speed it up ?

I'd really appreciate your help. I'm in trouble if I can't get this to go faster!

Thanks a lot

If you are not using the "ImportData method" (there is an geoImportAccessQuery flag) then try that method. I think you will lose the ability to show a progress bar but it will be faster.

as long as it is faster I guess my bosses wont care of the progress bar. I'll just add a status bar saying if the work is finished.

I'll have a look at this function now but I'll be able to code it in my app only on monday.

Will I still be able to add different symbol and a legend to my points?

Would you happen to have a quick example around?

Thanks a lot for your help
