Access Violations on exit in delphi

I have am application built in delphi using the mappoint control. I have had av's on exit most through most of the app's development now trying to fix it. When the application loads it loads up and loads either the EU or USA map. If you use the map its fine, if you click on any of the speed butons its fine, but when you click on a normal button, edit box or any component that can have focus the software pauses for a few seconds, in task manager mappoint goes from using 22mb to using about 120mb. It does this every time. If i exit after this has occured then i get 3 Access Violations usualy at the same address every time. If i just load the program look around the map and then exit it exits cleanly.

Any ideas?

In the FormMain.FormClose event do you free all your controls, like myMainMenu.Free? Perhaps this helps avoiding access violations.

Greetings, Jack.

I had the same. I solved it by setting

FMAP:=NIL

in the destructor or FormClose.
