I need to create a GIS database of appox 3000 car wreck cases for forensic purposes. I have tried to do this using pushpins, but after entering 6 pushpins MapPoint won't allow me to enter any more.

Is there another feature that will allow me to place all these locations, appox 1500 to start, on one map? These are mostly remote locations, so using an address database won't work, nor lat/long because I don't have the coordinates for them all.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds odd - what does it say when you try to add more pins? Are you trying to make them different colors? MapPoint won't have enough.

I assume you're having to add these manually if you don't have a coordinate or address?

How do you know where the accidents occurred if you don't have a coordinate or street address?
If we know, we might be able to think of an easier way to add the pins than doing them all manually!

what does it say when you try to add more pins? It doesn't say anything, it just won't let me place the pin. When I click on the pushpin and then click on the map, it just changes the cursor back to the defaulte cross-shaped cursor.

How do you know where the accidents occurred if you don't have a coordinate or street address? From the police report accident scene description, for instance: Vidor, TX, IH-10 EB, 0.1 mi W of MP 866. So I measure on the map and get an approx location

Strange - you can definitely manually add more than 6 pushpins - I've done it myself!

Perhaps someone else on the forums will have an idea as to what is wrong?

Well, and here's and interesting point: the same thing happened with the trial version I had before I purchased MapPoint. I thought it was just a limitation of the trial version...
