I found on CD 1 of the Mappoint for Dummies book the COM Add-In called Address Checker, now this is really good with the supplied data, and when I normalize my address data with the supplied tables, I end up getting an error AddPushPushPinsToMap. That aside it outputs incorrect addressing to a log file to be able to update the source data.

Now I'am using Mappoint 2006 and this COM Add-In was written for Mappoint 2002. I suspect that there is some changes to the Mappoint API's or whatever it is that I'll need to find to correct the pushpin function within the COM Add-In as it comes with the source code. So my journey shall begin can anyone point in the right direction of this task I've decided to take on...

There is no change adding pushpins to the map in all versions of mappoint 2002..2006.

I've discovered that the address for it to plot on the map needs to be 100% acurate. Otherwise it outputs a flat log file. Which may I say is nasty. I'll see about modifying the ouptut results to either excel or access as it can inport from either one of those.

If you have coordinates that are not on a street then mappoint cannot give you the exact name of the street. If yo go more altitude then it works again. But if it is very bad accurate and the point is in the middle of more streets then you cannot tell exact of course.

I'm not aware of any kind of logfile from mappoint.
