Even though Airlink no longer supports the software, I think your best bet it to talk to them. They would have the tools or the expertise to convert the mapping data to their format. However be prepared for it to be very expensive if not the tools or instructions on how to convert it, but getting the updated data from a data vendor. You cannot use the data in MapPoint or Streets & Trips, etc. because you cannot export or convert the street data into any other format. You would have to license the data directly from a data supplier such as Navteq. You could ask AirLink where they were getting the data.

On the other hand, maybe you can convince AirLink ATA to release a version of their software that using MapPoint in the background. ?

What all functionality does the software do? Do you think there would be an opportunity to build and market similar software using MapPoint for former AirLink ATS users?

Thanks for the reply. I do think there would be a market for that software because of it's functionality with a new map database. I have been shopping for a replacement but they all want recurring monthly fees per unit and you do not own the software, it is located on their servers. We still use the ATS with the outdated maps to track our Police vehicles and it is great.

I did call Airlink who is now bought out by Sierra Wireless and they said they will not support the software or update maps.

Do you know of someone who would be willing to create a product to take to market. " There could be an App for that!" in the future.
