Another MapPoint Lat/Long Question

I am a new MapPoint user and cannot understand the program authors' (apparent) oversight in not providing a method for the user to ascertain the Latitude and Longitude of a mapoint "Location object". I have seen the articles posted to this website which describe techniques for the user to get around this oversight, and to calculate Lat/Long coordinates by an indirect process. I certainly understand that such an approach will work, but my question is WHY has such an obvious user requirement been overlooked.

MapPoint must already have such a capability within it, as evidenced by the "Location Sensor" tool resident in the program. This tool dynamically reports the Latitude and Longitude of the map cursor. Yet there are no properties and methods supported (that I can find, at least) to allow the application developer to ascertain Lat/Long for MapPoint objects.

Along this same line, does anyone know if it's possible to enable and disable the Location Sensor from an Active-X control? Again, I have not been able to find any property or method to facilitate this.

Thank you for any help, or corrections to oversights on my part.

You are correct about the Location Sensor, there is not a way to use it with the ActiveX Control but here is an article you might wan't to read.
