Any other books to learn MapPoint

I already have a simple Access application with some queries linked to some maps for routing.

Are there any other reference books out there (MapPoint inside and out?) that someone like me who is on the low end the skill scale can ramp up their skills? Besides MapPoint for Dummies.

I would like to build a VB.net application this winter for my little lawn service company, and some automation between MapPoint and Access would real nice.

Thanks in advance.

There's not.. although there's a rumor O'Reilly may publish something covering all MapPoint technologies in 6-9 mos. (you heard it here first! ).

There are several articles on here that come to mind, and to be honest, I believe the content here on MP2Kmag when you include this forum is deeper and broader (if not as well organized) than you will find in any book.. you are already at the right place.

A seminal piece:
Using MapPoint from Word, Access and Excel
http://www.mp2kmag.com/a39--word.acc....mappoint.html
For being one of the least well-known or mentioned articles on MP2Kmag, I have to say it is in at least the top 10 (top 5?) of articles I have gone back to to see how to quickly get MapPoint talking to an Office application..

Tracking P.F. Chang’s in the Midwest
http://www.mp2kmag.com/a71--pf.chang....mappoint.html
This article gets mentioned a lot, perhaps it's because it does something basic yet in an elegant enough way to be applicable to a wide range of problems.

Home Locator Sample Application
http://www.mp2kmag.com/a74--home.locator.mappoint.html
John Washenberger gets creative. This is an excellent MapPoint / Access example.

There are certainly many other good examples of MapPoint/Access as well as MapPoint/VB.net programming on the site. My only real suggestion would be to use the search feature in the forum as well as Google to peruse and uncover gems on the site...

Thank you Eric for those links. I spent a few hours playing with them and the results on my own.

I hope the book O'Reilly may publish is comprehensive and understandable for novice and mid level users.

One of the links inside the first article you cite doesn't work. But the code ran fine.

Thanks again.

You're welcome..

I fixed the link, thanks for letting me know.. the new server the site is running on is not set to serve files with an .mdb extension, so I zipped it and updated the link in the article.
