I am trying to import data (Sales for each county) to MapPoint map and haven't been able to find a way to show the sales number next to each county name.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums! I would be happy to assist.
Do you mind to post a little bit of sample data? Then I will go through the steps to do this. If you zip an Excel file, it will allow you to attach to a post.
There are at least a couple different options --
1.) If you have MapPoint 2013 you can import Pushpins and set your data as the Name field and then use the Show name option by right-clicking on the layer in the legend.
Maybe use a 1x1 pixel transparent custom Pushpin symbol if you don't want an actual Pushpin to show up.
2.) Another option would use a simple custom macro to render drawing labels on the map.
I can post more detailed instructions including the macro after you post some sample data.
