arrows problem...

Hello,

I'm working with transportation flows and for that using an arrow model in Mappoint.
My problem is that for some destinations I have too many arrows and than the map is over polluted. What I would like to do is e.g. concentrate arrows for regions, so, instead of having 50 arrows for north of Italy, have only one for the region.
Is this possible?

Thanks a lot for any help!

Greets!

Re: arrows problem...

Presumably you're drawing the flows by hand?

You will need to collate your data first - ie. add up all the values for each country. Then draw it again. There'll be much less to draw!

Re: arrows problem...

No,no,no...
I got a code for the arrows, otherwise it would be impossible.
I'm dealing with a lot of data here, that's why I must summarize it.
It's is already filtered for 2 digit postcode but still a lot of arrows...
So, question would be if you know another way to group the data in order to have not many arrows?
Thanks again!

Hi flaviomota12,

I don't understand the problem, either, because it
seems like you've just stated the answer for yourself;
do it by country.

Then again, you could do it by 2-degree increments on
the earth graticule grid (SQL interpolate: between lat & long)

I answered because I can make a pdf of your map
that might be, oh, like 48x64 that could hold all of the
arrows. I use the 2004 version for Europe, though.
