Assigning multiple pushpins to a single data set

I am trying to assign multiple points to a single data set in MapPoint.

Basically, I want to import a set of zip codes into pushpins, be able to draw a box around groups of them, and then assign them to different data sets.

I know MapPoint can do this for each pushpin individually by right clicking on a pushpin, selecting properties, then selecting the desired data set in the drop down box. However, I am dealing with zip codes in the hundreds so this is very time consuming.

I would like to be able to draw a box around 100 pushpins, then assign them to a data set named something like "data set 1", then draw a box around 100 different pushpins and assign them to "data set 2", etc.

If MapPoint does not possess this functionality, are there any third party add ins that do?

    Thanks,
    Conor

Re: Assigning multiple pushpins to a single data set

    Hi Conor,

I created a COM Addin like this for my company activity.
You draw a rect with your mouse and choose the addin from the menu
It lists the datasets for you to choose from
Once you choose one and press go, it sets the pushpins parent to that dataset.
