Base Meridian/Township/Range/Section data

I am looking to do a bit of mapping that will depend on the use of township/range/section, aka Public Land Survey, delineation. Is there a downloadable data set for this for the covered states (I need California especially)???

Re: Base Meridian/Township/Range/Section data

I was seeking to convert Township Range Section legal locations in to GPS coordinates, and I found this site:

Township and Range

That throws as TRS layer into Google Earth. Now I do the manual search for the right section, and I get the GPS. Pretty cool.

Now, there's gotta be a way in Google Earth to do a keyword sorta search by typing in the TRS data...

[I use MapPoint daily for a company client db -- it'd be nice to do the same in the MSFT product...]
