    Basic of basics question ...

Very basic question to ask ....

I and others in my company have MapPoint 04.

If I order 09 for myself and subsequently email maps to my colleagues, will they be able to open my maps prepared in the 09 version using their 04 versions? Or would everyone need 09 to be compatible for mapping?

    I appreciate your help.

09 should be able to read 04 files, but try it to test.

However. 04 can NOT read 09 files.

How can it? 09 wasn't thought of when 04 was written! Also 09 has has more data - eg. roads/etc.

You could send them the data, say in Excel format, and then give the instructions to import into MapPoint 2004.

Another thing you could do is make map screenshots (gif, jpg) to send to them. Although they would not be able to open that in MapPoint 2004, they would at least have the map image.

    Eric ...

Thx as usual for your help. I'm gonna push for everyone to get 09 but we'll see how it plays out down the road.

    Best to you.
