Still looking for testers. I should have mentioned that it is policy to give free licenses in return for productive testing!

kulu: You also emailed me and I've replied. Yes I have a product almost ready for beta testing. You are welcome to beta test it when I have some initial documentation written. In the mean time you can send me some sample data for me to try running through the product.

I work in Auto Insurance. I am looking to cluster claims data by Zip code into logical clusters by defining the exact number of clusters I want.

v1.4 was released on Friday. This is a maintenance release that includes things like a much more efficient shut down process (handy for slow database connections), and much better resilience against corrupt registries.

I'm getting closer to getting this new version of MPMileage released. First I have a minor release of RouteWriter scheduled for Monday (27th). I'll probably release MPMileage the week after.

Slight change of plans: The interface new interface will support ODBC defined in a DSN, instead of simply SQL Server. I looked at UDL files but the .NET OLE DB driver for UDL files does not support SQL Server!

Using DSN for the ODBC allows a user to set specific attributes for their database connection - including usernames and passwords.

This version of MPMileage should be ready for beta testing this week.

    Hi,

How can I add those icons to my MapPoint permanently (not one by one and not by the various templates available) so they will be available at all time for all maps (and when I add a pushpin programmatically...)?

    thanks,

    Alon

Templates suitable for MapPoint 2009 and Streets&Trips 2009 are available from LaptopGPSWorld:

    [Template] Old-style pushpins for Streets & Trips 2009 / MapPoint 2009

These make the process much easier, but are still based on the 2002 pins (ie. the flags and and extra icons introduced in 2004 are not included)

You could import the pins, then save the file. Use this file as a basis of each new map that you create.

In 2006 and earlier, there was a default template that you could set - this would be used by MapPoint when it creates a new map. Eric Frost has worked with this a bit on 2009. I can't find the post now (perhaps it was on Usenet), but I think I saw someone post how to set the default template on MapPoint 2009.

it was so limited and now they've taken another step back with the latest version, argh. Does anyone know how to permanently import the old pushpins/symbols. We work with hundreds of different maps so its a lot of work to manually import symbols into every map and then each time we create a new map to do it again. Please help
