I have MapPoint 2006 with GPS. Have it installed on my Laptop. Everything is great except the audio volume for Turn by Turn instructions. It is very difficult to hear the instructions when driving due to road noise, etc.

All my audio volume controls are set at the max. If I play a CD recording while driving, I can hear with no problems.

Friends say Garmin is easy to hear when driving.

I called Microsoft Support. After troubleshooting to confirm that my volume was set to the max, the support person concluded that my system was fine. He said that if the turn by turn instructions could be heard while sitting in my office, the system is working fine. He suggested I wear headphones or attached external speakers to my laptop. Not going to happen.

When I told him that I am less than satisfied with the product, he suggested I get a money-back refund. He gave me the phone number to call. I called the number and was given the address to send the refund request. This is not what I want.

Bill Gates would love this.

I want to be able to use the turn by turn instructions on my laptop and hear them and not have to take my eyes of the road to look at the map. Sounds simple enough.

Can anyone please suggest a solution.
