Bing Maps July Imagery Release

Microsoft has rolled out the July 2009 Bing Maps Imagery release. The July release features 41TB of new satellite imagery, aerial photography and vector data for Bing Maps including 12,000+ square kilometers of Bird’s Eye photography.

The long anticipated MapPoint Add-in for SQL Server Spatial was released today.

The add-in provides an easy link to SQL Server Spatial and is much more that just a "viewer" application.

OnStar Uses Microsoft Virtual Earth for Emergency Response Services

OnStar, in conjunction with the Virtual Earth team, announced the use of Microsoft Virtual Earth for its emergency response services today. OnStar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors, is a provider of in-vehicle safety, security and communication services. OnStar advisors will be able to visualize geographic- and location-based information with Virtual Earth 3D and bird’s eye imagery, which is especially helpful when a vehicle veers off the road or is in visually compromising weather conditions....
