  1. An Animated MapPoint Map Depicting Superbowl Contests

    We put this together to demonstrate how MapPoint can be used to make animated maps.

    The video shows all of the past Superbowl contests. The logo for each team is displayed over their home city and lines show where the actual game took place. Textboxes at the top of the screen show details including attendance and the final score.
  2. State Identification Game Using MapPoint - Can You Do It?

    We've been preparing a geography game using MapPoint -- you have to identify which U.S. State is shown in MapPoint. Doesn't sound too hard, but you have to try it. How well can you do on your first try? Personally I thought I could probably identify 20-30 states by shape, and given context (surrounding states and water) I thought I could do 100%. But in practice my accuracy was more like 90%.

  3. The Best Mapping Alternative on the iPhone 5 / iOS 6 Right Now is Bing Maps

    With Apple catching flack for removing Google Maps and replacing it with their own inferior mapping app, Microsoft has a chance to promote their own iOS mapping application which is built into their Bing app for iOS.

    The Bing Maps app has generally been considered on par with Google maps so for now it is the best mapping application for iPhone 5 and iOS 6 users.

    Note that Apple maps has turn by turn driving directions (spoken & live) which the Google Maps for iOS ...
