I'm working on calculating the mileage (as driven) between two addresses. I will have the full address of both locations and want to get the distance. Can I use Mappoint to do this? (I 'm sure it can but I need to ask) I could care less about generating and displaying a map. I simply need a number in return.

If not Mappoint then what else could I use (I'm programming in C# with VS 2005 or 200. I need to make a purchasing decision in the next day or so. This is a full ASP 2.0 .Net web application.

Any hints or tips are very welcome!!

Well, I went ahead and ordered MapPoint. And the book "Programming MP with .NET" since I'm finding online info is a bit sparse on using MP with C#. If anyone has a suggestion of a better source of info than that I'd appreciate it.

The first section of that book has good coverage of using C# with MapPoint in various ways. How do add-ins, use the control, etc.

It is the "standard" way. I have promised Eric Frost (who owns this site) an article on using late binding with MapPoint and C#. This isn't as clean, but it offers more flexibility.
