I want to know the driven miles very accurate. How can this be done ?

I know you can calculate the distance between 2 pushpins, but how do you calculate it very precisly, so not a direct line but keep in mind that i have driven on road .

And how many pushpins do i need per minute?

I am developing it on a visual basic.net 2003 form with mappoint 2004.

What is the best way to do this, i have used waypoints which work, but is slow and how do i put comment with a waypoint. I want to put a location on the map every 15 seconds or something like that but i think waypoints are slow and to big to do this properly, is it better to use pushpins ? And how can i do the samen (calculate the driven route distance) between several pushpins ?

Ow, i have an other problem, when i add a pushpin the whole map reloads, which take a while, is it possible to just add a pushpin without reload ?
