Calculate GPS Cordinates

Hello,

I work with VB and I use mappoint's ocx.
I have placed pushpins on the map ( with an adress), and I try to recieve their GPS coordinates.
I have found a program in this forum (thanks Eric !!) and I try to use it in order to found the GPS coordinates.
When I execute the program, I receive GPS coordinates but their are not right (a little far). I try to check this coordinates whith Mappoint (software).

The only one differents between the program given in the forum and mine, is I use Mappoint Europe. I don't think it's the real justify this difference of place.

Have you ever seen this problem ? somebody could help me ?

Thanks for your attention.

Bye

Val.

GPS data

I noticed that Mappoint give GPS data in Decimal notation and not Deg,Min,Sec. As i have a cheap GPS unit that only does Deg,Min,Sec i wrote a little app that converts the fractional degrees to Min and Seconds

ie. 49.5000 = 49.30min.0sec

that might explain the problem you are having

fixed for me!

Thanks Xango!

That's solved my problem exactly. My gps coordinates never plotted properly in mappoint, until I changed my gps settings to decimal format. Then it was dead on!
