Hi,

Would it be possible to build an application using VB or VC++ which calculates the travel times between any two locations?
This would be a requirement which should be fulfilled in order for me to use MapPoint.
If MapPoint might not be able to do this, which affordable routeplanner might be an alternative?

I use a VB app with the MP2002 ActiveX control to do this. It is very doable. Of couse you mean estimated travel times!

I'm a newbie .. sorry if this seems a stupid question.

I also want to calculate estimated travel times, from a home base to a list of addresses in a spreadsheet (or I could use Access).

I've found snippets of code in Help. I've programmed Access before as an enthusiastic amateur.

My problem is knowing where to start - ie creating the base code within Excel or Access that establishes the link to Mappoint.

Does anyone have some sample code they've used for Excel or Access ?

I had the same question as you. I've just found this from MSDN, which may get you started with accessing Mappoint from VB or other applications:
