canīt import excel files

Hi to all!

I am trying to import an excel file into Mappoint 2002, but Iīm always getting an error (unexpected file extension)
Iīve also tried to import the sample file from Microsoft and it is also not working with the same error message.
Iīve looked into the Knowledgebase and installed mdac&jet drivers, but it is still not running.

Iīve also searched this forum here, some people seem to have the same problem as me but I couldnīt find a solution that fits for me.

Thank you all for your answers and sorry for my english but Iīm german.

Max

It is an ".xls" file, isn't it?

Is the file produced by a version of Excel which is more recent that MapPoint 2002 (v.2004 is now out)? If so, try saving it as an older "Office 2000" format.

I haven't seen this problem before, so these are just some ideas to try.
