Can you paste a map into Word or Excel?

Sadly, that's the reason I bought the program. The Microsoft website implies that you can. I'm using MapPoint 2010 and Office 2007. There doesn't seem to be anyway to export a map image to Microsoft Office programs.

The MapPoint add-in for Office will allow you to imbed a new blank map into it, but not a map I've spent hours creating in MapPoint. I have to recreate all my work within Word or Excel.

I must be missing something? Help files don't seem to cover this.

    Thanks!

    Hi gspam1,

Try Edit >> Copy map (ctrl+shift+c), and then paste it (ctrl+v) to Excel or Word.

    Marvin,

Thank you very much. That wasn't working yesterday but works fine this morning. Much appreciated!

Is there a way to paste them into excel as jpeg files instead of bmp? I pasted 46 maps into a report and the file size is slowing excel down immensely.

    Suggestions?

The best freeware image editor out there, in my opinion, is at IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide
You simply copy from MapPoint, paste to IrfanView, save on disk as jpg, then import to Word or Excel.
