I am currently writing an application in Visual C++. I have encountered a problem in trying to override the mouse operations using the BeforeClick and BeforeDblClick operations. Setting Cancel to TRUE, which should effectively disable activities does not seem to work. Even taking all my code out to leave the following fragment does not stop the mouse working as normal when a user clicks on the map. Has anybody else encountered this problem in C++

void CEditGeofences::OnBeforeClickMap(long Button, long Shift, long X, long Y, BOOL FAR* Cancel) 
{
     *Cancel=TRUE;
}

Been there, done it. Uses different bit or something?

*Cancel = 0xffff;
