Edit: found some info, looks like it is possible:

I'm currently weighing options for a mapping utility for a real estate company. My application is in C# winforms.
I've installed the MapPoint 2011 trial and I'm able to launch mappoint programatically from my c# winforms application. I was wondering how interactive I can be between MapPoint and my app? I'm fairly sure it's possible to export my data into mappoint programatically, but once it's in MapPoint can I capture click events or otherwise interact back with my application? I basically need to allow users to open an "edit data" window in my application based on a click on the MapPoint window.
Thanks for any advice.
