Hi Wendy,
What did you exactly?
The maps in Mappoint have a different background color for each map style.
Programatically, with the MapStyle Property, you can change the background colors, but at the same time the information displayed.Code:You have 5 style values: geoMapStyleData geoMapStylePolitical geoMapStyleRoad geoMapStyleRoadData geoMapStyleTerrain
But a program allowing you to change the background color of the GIF pictures created with your maps is somewhat more complicated.

I don't think Wendy is doing much programming (?).
There isn't an easy option Wendy, but as Mohamed says, you could try to kludge something with the map styles. This is limiting.
If you are creating static images (eg. GIF files), then these could be tweaked in a drawing program or by modifying the palette.

You are correct. I am not programming, just using the existing program as is. Another question about color. When I import a list and have a choice of colors for the shaded area, why can you only use the first color. They show white, and if I could use it, I could make all the other counties in the states I am working with white, and color the counties I need so they would show up.
Any way to do this?
Thanks.
