Combining Maps

I have several thousand maps, mostly in earlier versions of MP, and I want to know if I can create 1 map by importing and combining? Is there a limitation on how many pushpins a map can support? If so, I could create smaller geographic regions and have several maps instead of one (less attractive option).

Has anyone been through this process? Should I just take a bullet now, or is this possible?

Feel free to call me, or better yet respond via e-mail rk@askrk.com or 877 622-5508 x81. I have someone in my office who will be responsible for this project...

Re: Combining Maps

You can copy/paste layers between MapPoint instances, I think you can do it programmatically... this is what I'd try doing first.

Also, I haven't tried it, but it may be possible to read the ptm files directly and combine, see a previous post regarding this.

hope this helps.
