New to this forum and planning to stay:
MapPoint 2009 Europe is becoming a useful tool at my desktop (and therefore in our logistics team).

Since MapPoint 2009 makes a hassel in recognising zipcodes in combination with "close match" city names, I was thinking if an upgrade to 2011 would do the trick. But, before installing the update: would I loose my licence?
And is it compatible with the 2009 maps?
Or do I have to re-calculate all and therefore once again redo all non-recognised places?

To be safe, I'd make a backup of all your PTM files before converting them and trying to work with them inside of MapPoint 2011.

That said, you shouldn't have any worries.

• There is a fully functional trial version of MapPoint 2011 you can download for free.
• MapPoint 2011 can reside on a computer alongside previous versions of MapPoint and you can use them at the same time.
• If you later decide to uninstall MapPoint 2011, you can go back to just using MapPoint 2009 without any problems.

Also, note that after you convert a PTM file from MapPoint 2009 to MapPoint 2011 and save it, you won't be able to open it in MapPoint 2009 anymore.

When you open a MapPoint 2009 PTM file and convert it within MapPoint 2011, MapPoint 2009 will NOT be able to open the file.

So be sure to make copies before playing with them in MapPoint 2011.

While installing, I found out I had downloaded the US version for 2011.
Do you happen to know where to get the Europe version?
