I'm very new to MapPoint and I'm trying to accomplish what seemed like a very simple task. I use my GPS to record offroad hiking trips. I can get this dataset imported to MapPoint as a set of pushpins easily enough. What I'd like to do next is to connect all of these points to show the route I hiked and then remove the pushpin symbols leaving only the routeline. The only way I've found of doing this is to manually draw a line from one pushpin to next and so on. With a couple of thousand of pushpins comprising single hike, this is very time consuming. Manually going through the steps of doing each thing (import the data, connect the pushpins, remove the pushpins) is fine - I'd just like to speed up the connecting-of-pushpins step.

Is there any way (without custom programming) to get MapPoint to connect all of these points for me?

I think you would need the custom programming for this one....

Instead of drawing a line from one pushpin to another you should draw 1 polyline, this is much faster. You wil need to create an array of Mappoint locations and draw a polyline based on this array.
