Copying MapPoint Maps to PowerPoint Presentations

I'm having problems copying MapPoint Maps to PowerPoint Presentations. In MapPoint I left click the mouse and outline the area of the map that I want to copy and then right click the mouse and select the copy function. I then go to the PowerPoint Slide where I want to paste the map and right click the mouse and select paste. The MapPoint map is then pasted into the PowerPoint Slide.

BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM....

After copying several different MapPoint Maps into different PowerPoint Slides ALL OF THE SUDDEN all of the maps that I pasted into the different PowerPoint Slides are all the same map of the last one that I pasted.

Anyone have any ideals what is happening?

one way

I don't use Powerpoint much, but here's a thought, as long as you don't need your maps to be too dynamic.

Create your maps and save each as a web page. THen paste the webpage version of the map into your presentation.

Or alternatively, create a graphic by doing a screenshot and cutting the maps out. Not elegant by any means, but it's one way to do it.

linking maps between mappoint and powerpoint

Had this problem only a couple of days ago. Solution is relatively simple.

Save each mappoint map as a .ptm.

Then in powerpoint use the 'insert object' option.

Tick the 'create from file', browse to the .ptm file, tick 'link' and enter.

The resulting embedded map will then update in powerpoint every time you right click the map and select 'update link'

Hope this helps.

Gus
