Criteria for extracting postcodes in Mappoint Euro Ver

I create a drivetime zone of 15 minutes on the map and export the data to Excel. If we increase the time zone, for example to 16, then more postcode sectors are extracted.

My question is regarding partially covered postcode sectors. With these postcodes, how is it determined whether these postcodes are selected to be exported to Excel or not.

I don't think there's a way without exporting to a better GIS like MapInfo or Manifold, also you would need postcode boundaries.

As further information, each postcode sector (or district or area) has a centroid, basically a point representing the centre. If the centroid falls in your drive time zone then the postcode sector is included. You can plot the postcode centroids as pushpins, showing you excactly what's going on.

Re: Criteria for extracting postcodes in Mappoint Euro Ver

I confirm what Davidb said. By the way in continental Europ this centroid could be mispositioned in MapPoint: i.e in a lake as in bodensee Both for Germany and Switzerland, Geneva lake both for France and Switzerland. or in a middle of nothing i.e Forest.

Rules to define this centroid is based on country rules : i.e center of the post code or address of the postoffice or...

First step is then, base on the country you are working on, to clearly identfy with pushpin where is the centroid of your poscode. www.geopostcodes.com/ and www.upu.int could be helpfull
