Custom PushPins

I've created a series of pushpins I use quite often in my maps
but I have to load each time manually & individually these pushpins in my new maps...

I can think of 2 solutions:

1. use a old map with the already preloaded pushpins, delete the previous stuff & build my new map
=> In this case what would be the code to load the existing map & erase everything, rename it (to be sure not to keep my previous map because I still need it)

2. automatically load my custom pushpins in the template
=> Is this possible ?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Custom PushPins

For #2 Yes! The default template for MapPoint 2006 is in C:\Program Files\Microsoft MapPoint 2006\Templates
You can make a backup copy of the ptt file that is in there and replace it with your own template.
Note that .ptt files are identical to .ptm files, they are the same file format, they just have different extensions. I believe this is similar to Excel templates which have the .xlt extension.

Re: Custom PushPins

So simple - Thank you, it's working!

Automating Mappoint from Excel will use the general template each time?
How can I select my customized pushpins in my code? how to recognize each new pushpins in my vba code please?

Re: Custom PushPins

If you are always using the same template then the id's will remain the same. Generally I try to code things so that it is not dependent on knowing the ID of the custom symbols, but I think you'd be safe if you know you will always be using that template.

I'm not sure I understand this question. :-/

Re: Custom PushPins

John Meyer also has a free utility for loading multiple pins:
