Data mapping shows data in wrong places???

Anybody got any idea why my US data is sometimes mapped incorrectly? The pie chart for Los Angeles shows up in northern Georgia. Phoenix data is mapped to SE New Mexico.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Not sure if we have enough information to know what's going on.. how are you trying to map data? By zip code?

Yes, mapping by ZIP code (metro areas) and its putting some in the wrong location.

Re: Data mapping shows data in wrong places???

What's an example?

I would look for something messing with the formatting of the zip code such as dropping leading zero's or zip4 codes.

Re: Data mapping shows data in wrong places???

I'm mapping by metro area by zip code and it is putting the "Los Angeles - Long Beach - Santa Ana, CA" in the NE corner of Georgia. A lot of the other metro data shows up in the wrong place as well. It seems to be geographically based - the stuff in the southern half of the US seems off while the northern half seems right. The zip code data in my imported XLS file is stored as text and looks correct with leading zeroes, etc. It also says all the data imports correctly.

Any ideas? Is there a better way to explain this problem?
