Display Map on web page

I am running a small GPS applet on my Boost cell phones that are Located in my vehicles. these Applets send GPS data to my server at home which is running a VB host program. the VB program parses the data from the phones and puts it onto a Mappoint 2006 map. Currently I have to use the saveaswebpage function, then extract the GIF out of the directory.. use Imagemagick API to turn it into a JPG for display on my in-wall Touchscreens and on my website... is there an easier, better way inherent in mappoint 2006 to create a JPG of the current activemap?

also can I have more than one map open at a time and switch back N forth in my VB program? so I could easier maintain 2 maps, 1 for Each vehicle. right now I am switching back and forth by opening and closing maps each time one of the GPS's requests to send an update into the server.. creates quite ab it of CPU usage on the host server..

Hi Christopher,

Web page ? You cannot publish maps for public usage according the end user agreement. Please check carefully that you are within the rules.

As for you question I think it would be faster to copy the map to clipboard, then copy it from clipboard into a bitmap object in your application.

Re: Display Map on web page

I didnt realize that was considered public usage.. when it is not an interactive site.. the Website user doesnt submit data to the website and dynamically create the map.. it is created solely by the backend app and then goes up on a webpage so my friends can see where I am.. and gets displayed in my house on my in-wall touchscreens in case I loan my truck to someone etc... my website nor my backend app is commercial.. you are saying im still in license violation? seems it would be a LOT of $$$ to order the mappoint web service just to use for a personal site..

Re: Display Map on web page

I would have said that this would be subject to the "10,000" (or "1,000" ?) maps restriction but I don't see this in the MapPoint 2006 EULA... anyway, just carefully read the EULA and see if you think you are violating any parts of it.
