| Displaying Hill Shaded Tiles with the Virtual Earth API Earlier this month [details] we released a new map style that shows elevation and terrain in regular street maps worldwide. Here is a sample: These shaded road*maps are available through the API as well, but they must be explicitly turned on by using VEMapStyle.Shaded (or ‘s’) in the call to VEMap.LoadMap or VEMap.SetMapStyle. Since not every developer will want to turn these on in their application, we left the default at plain vanilla road. |
