| Does MapPoint 2009 work with Microsoft Access 2003? I've tried the COM object in Word 2003 and MapPoint 2009 works good. But in Microsoft Access, if I add the MapPointControl in a Form it doesn't work: the object is not a MapPointControl but something like {8F78D7FC-BAE4-46A4-A79A-052356AB3DD4} (the CLSID of the object). It is an object but it doesn't have the properties and methods of the MapPointControl. Moreover, in Access I tried to create an instance of the object: Private WithEvents m_oMap As MapPoint.MappointControl And then to add the object at the Form at runtime (like in VB 6) but I think it's no possible in Microsoft Access. Any suggestion? ![]() Thanks |

There are some articles on MP2Kmag that show examples of MapPoint in Access.. MapPoint Articles - MP2K Magazine Search for Access Here's a couple good ones - Home Locator Sample Application - MapPoint Articles - MP2K Magazine Tracking P.F. Chang’s in the Midwest - MapPoint Articles - MP2K Magazine hope this helps, Eric

Thank you for the response Eric. I've read the articles but I've not yet found the solution to my problem. The MapPointControl OCX works well with Word 2003 and VS 2005 .NET but with Access 2003 it doesn't work well. Simply I insert the control in an Access form but I can't use the methods and properties of the control like "NewMap", "ActiveMap", "ItineraryVisible", etc. There are only the common methods and properties of a generic control. When I move the mouse on the object variable I see the ToolTipText that indicate the class of the control: it is {8F78D7FC-BAE4-46A4-A79A-052356AB3DD4} instead of MapPointControl (like I see it in Word 2003). I don't think you see {8F78D7FC-BAE4-46A4-A79A-052356AB3DD4} as ToolTipText. Do you have any other suggestion? Someone else has experimented the same problems? Thank you for your attention. |
