Hello. I have seen websites that seem to show that Mappoint Europe contains a database with location system identifying by city (or postal perhaps) the longitude and latitude of locations.

I have been seeking such a system for eternity, and it is proving to be extremely hard to find.

Is this true? And is this a database I can access outside of MapPoint or is it hardcoded into the program?

Doesn't anyone know.

Do you know how the canada/us system is held in the regular version of MapPoint - I am sure the db of this info is held the same way.

Search this site for "Reverse Geocoding". MapPoint doesn't support it out-of-the-box, but there are some workarounds to get the nearest address or 'place' from a coordinate.
