As far as we can tell, the GPS interface in all Microsoft mapping products checks the serial port for NMEA formatted strings. This doesn't mean you necessarily need to have a serial GPS device - USB and PC Card devices also work because they are typically mapped to serial ports . But whether GPS signals over a TCP connection are recognized is doubtful. We haven't tried - I guess the only way to know for sure is to try it out. |
