Drawing Shapes

I have a feww questions about shapes that, hopfully someone will be able to answer:

1. is there anyway to draw a custom item on the map without using a pushpin?

2. Is there anyway to change the colour used by the drawing object to black and/or fill a shape?

3. Is there anyway to remove a drawing object from the map once its been drawn on?

If it helps, I'm trying to use show a route a vehicle took via dots where i have data logs

Cheers

M

For #1, see the Add* methods, there's an AddShape method which will add geometric primitives, and AddLine / AddPolyline methods.. also AddTextBox.

I think for your last question you would loop through the Datasets collections and then see if the Name property of the Dataset matches what you're looking for..

Re: Drawing Shapes

I have been able to add a bmp to the map by adding a custom symbol, and assigning it to a pushpin, i can give more details if required

Re: Drawing Shapes

I have attatched 3 pictures, showing a custom bitmap icon, one when it is unselected, one when the user selects it with a single click and one when the user double clicks it to see the info bubble. Note that the bitmap is only a test (aka a bit crap) and also it is only a very small bitmap, i think 16x16. I know that mappoint will allow images up to at least 128x128 maybe larger, but they need to be in the correct bitmap format, i did this by photoshopping some icons, then pasting them into paint, and saving them.
