I want to use MapPoint to produce mileage reports based on workers visiting different places throughout the week. I know I can use the Route object to calculate the driving distance between two postcodes but it takes a bit longer than I'd like, given the number of calculations needed.

I've looked at the Distance method but it seems to give the straight-line distance, not as someone would drive.

Does anyone know how to get the true driving distance quickly without drawing the route on the map?

I assume you are doing this by programming?

If you switch MapPoint's visibility off, it will find routes a little bit quicker because it doesn't have to draw the route, redraw the map, etc.

A batch route-finding program that I wrote earlier in the year, averaged about 1 route per second, although there was some evidence that this performace dropped over time (hours) due to MapPoint's memory management.

I am in need of a batch routing program that can generate distance/time between multiple postal code points(destination) from one point (origin). And export the results into excel.
