I've never heard of that -- that a dual processor system would cause trouble with installation. But there are plenty of other installation problems. What is the exact error or condition?

Windows?

What version of Windows are you running John? I'm in the market for a dual processor system and from what I've been reading so far, Windows can be picky about dual processors... Windows 2000 is prefered and NT as well. You have to make a minor change in the Control Panel, that might help.

"To change it in Windows 2000 between single-processor and dual-processor configuration. Simply go into the Device Manager and find the item 'Computer'. With 'Change Driver' you can choose whichever system configuation you fancy by choosing 'show all available drivers'."

An exerpt from TomsHardware.com

They've got tons of advice, reviews and tips at that site. Maybe you'd find something to help.

Good luck.
