Sometime ago I blogged on the ((Echo))MyPlace geosocial networking solution from our friends at the Carbon Project. The product has been enhanced and the Carbon team has posted a video out on Soapbox to highlight the enhancements.

This is really cool. I love the ability to subscribe to news feeds and then provide “ticker tape” news at the bottom of the app that is georeferenced on the map. And though it is just an effect, I love the “glow” that ties information windows displayed over the map to the pushpin location on the map.

Very slick.

The volume of the demo is a little low so be sure your system volume is turned up as well as the volume sliding control at the bottom of the Soapbox video window.
