The EcoMap CostaRica website is now up!

A lot of content still required, but the site is now up:

EcoMap Costa Rica

I'll post to the "Other Map Software" folder when I have some useful maps running. They're not hooked in yet, but I've been experimenting with MapServer and OpenLayers.

The website will be documenting a research project of my wife's. At the end of May we will be taking some Ecological Field Techniques students out to Costa Rica, to survey a rain forest reforestation scheme. The plan is to return each year and to chart the changes. The scheme is only 12 months old, so we're lucky that we can monitor things from the beginning. I shall be handling the website, mapping, panoramic photos, and volcanology. Volcanology because we're only a few miles from one of the world's most active volcanoes.

The site already has a blog. For the next week or so this will probably be dominated with volcano info posts from me. It will also have posts from Marcy, and we intend to let the students loose on it during the field work (yes, we have wifi at 'camp' in the rain forest!).
