I am new to Mappoint. I am writting a custom program in VB and I want to be able to display Mappoint on a form and have it interact with text box data I have on the form.

I have a Mappoint control on a form and I want to have many/most of the features that exist in Mappoint including the drawing tool available to the user. I have the form coming up but some of the features like the drawing tool are not showing up.

Is the problem using the form control vs creating an instance of the application?

Could someone point me in the right direction?

To show the toolbars you might try something like:

oMap.Application.Toolbars.Item("Drawing").Visible = False

where oMap has been set to the map control object.

ddodgen, you must mean "Visible =True"

Spideybud, there are a lot of ways to show more of MapPoint. One easy method is to use the "PaneState". With this property you can show the routeplanner, find nearby places, the legend or the territory manager. An example would be:

Me.MappointControl1.PaneState = geoPaneRoutePlanner

To show the toolbars, then you can do almost as ddodgen told you (ddodgen is is using the syntax for the MapPoint Application object, not the OCX). The choices you have here are "Standard", "Navigation", Drawing" and "Location and Scale". An example of this would be:

Me.MappointControl1.Toolbars.Item("Drawing").Visib le = True
