| Error on import data from Excel to mapPoint Recently, we received new PC with windows XP SP2, and installed MapPoint Europe 2004 (11.00.18.1900). Importing data from Excel to MapPoint on these PC, we have the error 'Pointeur non valide' (the same error we had before installing MDAC on PC with SP1), and we can't install MDAC (MDAC 2.8 is not compatible with Windows release). It seems that a version MDAC 2.81 is included in thse SP2, but I think that the install of MapPoint crushed correct version in the PC Is there anybody who encountered this problem ? Thanks a lot |

Hi Didier, I have successfully installed MDAC 2.81 on XP SP2. No it was not included because it contained an old version. I just made a little program to list ADO and MDAC version currently installed. If you wants it then I email it to you, or I upload it somewhere because it can benefit others too. Just tell me what to do if needed.

I dont' find MDAC 2.81 on Windows Update: no problem fro MDAC 2.8 or oldest release, but no link to upload release 2.81. Thinks a lot Didier |

| To resolve the problem between MapPoint 2004 et XP Sp2
Re-install MDAC : in the folder c:\windows\inf, right-click on MDAC.INF et click "Install"; When its asks for the windows XP SP2 CDROM, seloect c:\i386. That's OK |
